September ll, 1983 oil on prepared masonite, 48" x 60".
This painting was created while I lived in Caledon. In it you will notice a 3 quart crock into which local sunflowers are placed. The background includes details from an old schoolhouse window and wainscoting from the century old schoolhouse, the home that my husband and I shared for 37 years.
Colours are kept mellow - yellows and 'crock' greys and olive greens, which are accented with slices of deep purple and maroon. All painted in a loose and free manner.
