Runnymede Angel - Watercolour - "22 x 30"

The image of this angel comes from a large window at the Runnymede War Memorial in England, where the drawing is etched into the glass. I photographed it on my first visit there in 1989. I drew the angel in light pencil and brushed in a resist. When the resist was dried, a deep blue watercolour was applied in a very loose fashion. When all was dry, I rubbed out the resist and the pencil marks. Thus this angel is playing the horn joyfully into the night sky!

This piece is also on select merchandise, available at RedBubble. It makes a great Christmas card or postcard!
