 Images of Women (1992-2000)

In the early 1990's Lyn found herself very interested in reading about outstanding females in history.

Among the women she admired were political leaders (Joan of Arc), wealthy queens who cared for the poor (Elizabeth of Hungary), loyal mothers (Monica), and intellectually brilliant scholars (Edith Stein).

From 1993-97 she was able to join a group of painters at Harold Klunder's home in Flesherton, Ontario for a few weeks in the summer. This intensely creative environment enabled her to delve beneath the surface and explore images related to each woman she had previously researched. She came to love the use of Latin and Hebrew texts, as this provided her with recognized historical symbols to combine with her spontaneous and vibrant manner of painting.
